Kitchen and Bathroom sink faucets often develop slow leaks that is the result of a bad or worn out cartridge. Often the cartridge can be replace to fix the leak without having to buy a new fixture. In order to make the repair you first have to identify the type of fixture. In some cases, it may be difficult to identify what type of fixture you have not to mention get the parts to make the repair. By the time you have a couple of hours invested into repairing the old faucet it may make more sense to just replace the entire faucet.
While we still repair many faucets, you always want to consider if you should fix the an old faucet or update for something a little more modern. This is where we can work with you to help you select a quality fixture. Send us an email of the fixture you want installed and we can get it from a supply house instead of the hardware store. Believe it or not, there really is a difference in many types of fixtures. A fixture may appear the exact same on the outside including brand, labeling, and finish but for some reason the cartridge inside the faucet will be different. This can make repair on these types of units nearly impractical.
Many shower fixtures are a little more universal. Delta shower fixtures are among the most common and can usually be replaced relatively easily. Repairing a leaky shower usually makes more sense because replacing this type of fixture may require cutting out either drywall or tile.
