Kitchen and Bathroom sink faucets often develop slow leaks that is the result of a bad or worn out cartridge. Often the cartridge can be replace to fix the leak without having to buy a new fixture. In some cases, it may be difficult to identify what type of fixture you have not to mention get the parts to make the repair. By the time you have a couple of hours invested into repairing the old faucet it may make more sense to just replace the entire faucet.

Many shower fixtures are a little more universal. Delta shower fixtures are among the most common and can usually be replaced relatively easily. Repairing a leaky shower usually makes more sense because replacing this type of fixture may require cutting out either drywall or tile.
