One of the easiest calls that we get is for a slow draining bathtub. This is not the type of clog that can be cleared with liquid drain cleaners. Most of the time a slow draining bathtub is from hair that has caught around the drain grate underneath the stopper.
The best way to remove the stopper is to use a pair of pliers and turn the top to the left. Once the stopper has been removed you can use a pair of thongs to remove the hair causing the clog.
In general we don’t recommend using a liquid drain cleaner. There is not a plumber on earth that likes pulling his drain cable out of a drain line filled with chemicals. The solution can also be tough on the drain pipes, especially when used on a fully blocked line. Cast iron drain lines can actually start to leak after using the liquid drain cleaner.
