Converting an electric water heater to gas

If you have an electric unit and would like to replace it with gas there are several things that you need to consider. First you will need a licensed plumber come out to check that your incoming gas line is large enough for the increased demand. You will also need to make sure there is a nearby flue that you can tie the vent into and that it is appropriately sized to handle the additional vent. The flue can be one of the most costly and prohibitive aspects on installing a new gas appliance.

There are many benefits to having a gas powered water heater. Natural gas is abundantly available right here in the U.S. Natural Gas also is a much cleaner burning fuel than our current means of creating electricity. It will also save you money on your monthly bill when compared to electric.
