KC Plumber Pro is a certified Rinnai Tankless Water Heater installer. We have gone through the training to not only install a tankless water heater but we can also service tankless water heaters. Servicing a tankless water heater is a lot different than a traditional tank type water heater. A tankless water heater is a lot more complicated due to all the additional parts.
There are three common tankless water heaters that KC Plumber Pro will install, each has their advantages.
A Rinnai tankless water heater is one of the more popular units. People that really know the industry seem to prefer these machines. The main difference between Rinnai and other manufacturers is the vent for the machine. The Rinnai unit must use a steel vent instead of PVC. This unit is also limited to the distance that you can run the vent.
Navien Tankless Water heaters are becoming more and more popular. This seems to be the preferred brand for many installers due to the ease of installation. The Navien performs at 98% efficiency which is higher than any other tankless unit on the market.
Noritz is another common name in tankless water heaters.
For some people tankless isn’t a good option, for those that are still looking for an efficient water heater you can consider a power vent model. The Bradford White TTW Power Vent tank will cost a litte more upfront but will pay for itself after a few short years. We need to come out to inspect the gas line supply since the power vent water heaters require an additional 36,000 btu than a traditional gas water heater. We also inspect the vent for the gas appliance. A power vent water heater will require a separate vent that is usually vented out the side of the house. This works well in many older home that don’t have a liner inside of their chimney.
