CPVC Supply Lines

cpvc water lines for home

CPVC is another supply line that most plumbers don’t like to see. The biggest problem with CPVC is that is becomes very brittle over time. This can cause a major problem if a plumber is trying to replace a shower cartridge behind a finished wall. It’s very common for old plumbing to be a little stubborn which can require some leverage. This just makes for a bad combination and can attribute to water damage.

CPVC doesn’t require many special tools to install, much like PVC the joints are glued together. We come across CPVC on a job we will typically transition over to either copper or pex. CPVC supply lines will usually start to become brittle within 15 years after being installed.
