One of the most popular seats in the house is the toilet. Most of the time you don’t think about your toilet unless you are a plumber or are having issues with your toilet. One of the most common problems that KC Plumber Pro will deal with is a loose or wobbly toilet. When a toilet is not properly secured to the floor, sewer gas can seep out from the gap and into your living space.
There are several reasons that a toilet can become loose and start to wobble. The first step is to drain all of the water out of the toilet. This can be accomplished by shutting off the water supply and flushing the toilet. The next step is to take a bucket of water and dump it into the toilet that is loose. This should create a siphon the will empty all of the water out of the toilet.
Once the water has been removed from the toilet you should then remove the tank and then the bowl. Immediately after removing the bowl you should begin to see what the reason for the toilet being so loose. If you have a plastic closet flange there is a good possibility that it has cracked and will no longer support the toilet. Instead of replacing the entire flange, you can get a toilet flange repair kit that will go over the existing flange. Once you have installed the flange repair kit, re-install the toilet and you should be good to go.
